Tube Chair by Eugeni Quitllet – The Return of an Icon

Some designs don't need to be reinvented to remain relevant. They simply need to find new ways to express themselves. Such is the case with Tube, the collection designed by Eugeni Quitllet in 2016, which, ten years later, begins a new chapter with RS Barcelona.

At this year's Feria Hábitat València, Tube took center stage at the RS Barcelona stand. A chair born from a gesture as simple as it is expressive: a continuous line that bends, flows, and transforms, ultimately shaping an entire collection. Today, that line is reimagined entirely in aluminum. A new material that brings lightness, strength, and greater versatility while preserving the essence of the original design. The same line. The same silhouette. A new material expression.

The collection of chairs and stools in different heights now embraces a broader spectrum of colors, with a palette of 21 shades alongside a natural aluminum finish. This expanded versatility allows Tube to engage in a dialogue with different spaces and architectural settings.

A Conversation with Eugeni Quitllet

On Tuesday, September 29, Eugeni Quitllet reunited with Tube. His visit was one of the highlights of the fair, offering the press and visitors an opportunity to step into the designer's creative universe and explore the origins of the collection and the new chapter now unfolding.

Because behind an apparently simple form lies an idea, an intention, and a distinctive way of seeing the objects that surround us and become part of our everyday lives.

AL13, A Designer's Signature

Feria Hábitat València also marked the Spanish debut of AL13, the pool table designed by NICHETTO®, the studio founded by Luca Nichetto, following its presentation at Milan's Salone del Mobile last April.

An architectural statement defined by a striking aluminum volume, AL13 elevates the game into a new aesthetic dimension, as a work of art. Stripped of anything superfluous, its character emerges through proportion, materiality, and the precision of every detail, including the leather perimeter that elegantly frames the playing surface.

Two designs, two distinct creative languages, and a shared vision of objects: pieces that transcend their function to become part of the spaces we inhabit, fostering the connections and relationships that unfold within them. Design as a meeting point.

Play & Pause Zone

The space we designed and shared with Sancal showed that there are other ways to experience the rhythm of a design fair, connect with others, and make room for a little play. The RS Max, our eight-player foosball table, challenged visitors to unleash their playful and competitive sides, while Sancal's Link modular poufs offered a welcoming place for those who preferred to slow down and enjoy the fair at a more relaxed pace.

RS Barcelona's participation in Feria Hábitat València was another opportunity to reconnect with design professionals, collaborators, and friends, and to continue exploring that space where design and play come together.
