The lightness of yellow
Joy. This is the word that best defines yellow. It is the colour of the sun, of summer. The one that brightens up our day and charges our mood with energy. Its spectrum of shades ranges from the warmth and serenity of ochre and mustard to the brightness and vibrancy of lemon and sunflower. In the cold seasons, yellow shelters us and cozies us up. And when the good and warm weather arrives, it encourages us to make the most of the endless days outdoors.
Yellow is the colour we perceive when our eyes detect wavelengths between 460 and 482 nm. And among these frequencies, yellow shines with its flexibility of shades and meanings.
Yellow gives us vitality, whets our appetite and invites us to feast on life in tasty bites. It covers our eyes with a filter of optimism and dazzles us with its luxurious golden glow. Yellow emerges from the earth, from the sun, from fire, and nature warns us of its dangers with vibrant yellows that put us on alert. Although it is not a colour for the superstitious ones, it is the colour of life. Because a simple splash of yellow is able to transform dark spaces with its luminosity and brilliance.
