15 Years Story - RS Barcelona
It all began in a small sheet metal workshop in 1975. Rafael Rodríguez Castillo, a seasoned mould maker, decided to set up his own business. Over time, his workshop became an industrial building just outside Barcelona and his two sons joined the business. The machines cut, folded and bent metal at a relentless pace and the work soon became monotonous. Working for others put food on the table but it didn’t satisfy the creative hunger of the business, the creative hunger that makes big dreams start to come true. It was time for the company to put all the expertise built up over the years into designing a unique product of its own: the RS2 football table, a highly personal reinterpretation of one of the classic items of Spanish culture and entertainment. Thanks to the iconic design of the RS2, the football table went from the garage to the living room.
Coincidence came into play in 2006, when RS Barcelona came into contact with Vinçon, Barcelona’s leading interior design store, and the RS2 earned itself a prime spot in the store window. But happy coincidences can also be sought out and cultivated, and this chance encounter gave the company the push it needed to reach for more. More dreams. More products. More progress. That’s how it all began, with a football table. But it wasn’t just a product. It wasn’t just a game. It was a statement of intent, the essence of intense living. A way of approaching life, of living it to the full and squeezing the most out of every moment. Because those moments and the people we share them with are what shape us. They’re the moments that become unforgettable memories.
That’s what we’ve been doing for the last 15 years. Putting our heart and soul—and our craftsmanship—into everything we do in order to transmit out intense living philosophy. Designing, innovating and unabashedly enjoying ourselves while remaining fully committed to authenticity, quality and sustainability. Respecting our environment and contributing to a kinder, more conscious world and future. We take each day as a new challenge, a new match, in order to learn and grow while playing.
